Andrew’s wealth management career began in 1984, after earning a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Economics and Politics from Willamette University. He started at a “boutique” advisory firm, then developed his practice over the next nearly 20 years with A.G. Edwards, where he became a Branch Manager in 1998. He joined Stifel’s Salem office as a Branch Manager in 2009. He holds Series 7, 9 & 10, 63, and 65 securities licenses and earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ designation.
Throughout his career, Andrew has utilized a fee-based advisory approach for portfolio management. In designing and managing customized portfolios for his discretionary clients through Stifel’s Solutions Program, Andrew focuses on well-managed, historically attractive, Blue Chip-types of U.S. companies, drawing upon the nationally recognized research of Stifel and affiliate Keefe, Bruyette & Woods (KBW) to assist in the selection process. With more than four decades of experience as a financial advisor, he has developed a healthy respect for market volatility and recognition of the tendency for investors and market participants to “chase” returns. He strives to educate and inform his clients to mitigate or potentially avoid the pitfalls associated with such ‘momentum-based’ investing. Andrew believes that focusing on the long term provides the best approach when pursuing superior returns.
Andrew, a lifelong Salem resident, and his wife, Carol, were married in 1981 and have raised five children (as well as two AKC Champion Vizslas). He is an active member of his church and an avid runner. He serves on the Willamette University Alumni Board of Directors and has been a member of the Willamette Master Chorus since 2015.
